SO…I hope you have had a chance to browse your matches on your dating app!
I have no doubt that you’re meeting some interesting people – but what about their ‘red flags’? Here are MY TOP 10 RED FLAGS to watch for!
- Vague profile – zero pics and a lack of effort on writing a bio is a sure sign that they are fake or already taken. Swipe left!
- Pics – they should not ALL be filtered. If they look too good to be true – they are. Do a reverse google search. Before meeting in person, do a video call. This always catches the catfish before it’s too late!
- Money – they hint that they need help financially (or ask for cash). Scams are plentiful online. Do not fall victim. NEVER give out banking info or passwords!
- “I love you” – they fall in love way too fast and profess it without hesitation.
- Ghosting – when they disappear for weeks or months with no communication…take the hint. You are not a priority.
- Smothering – constant texting or getting angry with your delayed text response is a sign that someone has no patience or a temper that flares.
- The “Ex” – if all they do is talk about their ex (good or bad) be careful. We all bring up our ex at some point – but it shouldn’t be a regular thing.
- Widower – a fake, sad story is often an attempt to play on your emotions.
- Selfishness – me, me, me. Everything is about them! If this is how they behave online and via text – it’s how they are in person.
- No communication skills – there is nothing worse than a forced conversation. If it’s like pulling teeth to chat – MOVE ON.
There are many other red flags – this list is not exhaustive! But today’s advice? TRUST YOUR GUT. If it seems too good to be real – it probably is.
