When we think about the average person living to be 82 years old…
That’s roughly 29,950 days. With 1440 minutes in every day – we actually (if we are lucky) will have graced this earth for about 43,128,000 minutes or literally over 2.5 BILLION seconds.
What are you doing with your time to make it count? Who are you spending your precious moments with and what are you allowing to take up space in your life?
Recently, I’ve taken some drastic measures and I’ve deleted a number of “friends” on social media. Perhaps we have grown apart and gone our separate ways. Perhaps we no longer have the same ideals. Perhaps they were just a drain on my energy. “Energy vampire” is a term I didn’t understand until recently. I didn’t even realize that certain friends were sapping my emotional well-being until it was far too late.
If someone doesn’t support you or lift you up…if they don’t help make you the best version of yourself…if they consistently take from your cup – and never pour back into it…you need to cut them loose. We have a limited number of days, hours and minutes on this amazing planet – spend them with the people you love.
My advice today? Look around you. Decide which “friends” you can count on and who impacts your life in positive ways – YOUR people. Keep them close. Pick your tribe carefully because life is just too short.
