The perils of loving someone long distance…
1. You are in a committed relationship – but still fall asleep and wake up alone.
2. It is impossible to be by their side in an emergency at the drop of a hat.
3. YOU get to know them – but your family and friends do not.
4. Both people’s wallets take a beating because travel is not cheap.
5. You need to buy more space on your phone just to hold their pics and vids.
6. People judge your decision to date long distance – everyone has an opinion.
7. Cell phones die and data runs out and you cannot always reach one another.
8. Time zones are a pain in the ass (thank God I don’t have this issue with Mike!).
9. The only non-verbal cues you have are childish emojis and “pervy gifs”.
10. Not everyone is good at communicating over the miles and communication is the most essential component to ANY relationship.
The benefits of loving someone long distance…
1. Absence makes the heart grow fonder – or so they tell me.
2. You don’t have to shave every day.
3. The time you DO share together – is even more special.
As you can see, the CONS are more plentiful…but in my opinion, the PROS are what really matter (minus the shaving!). My advice today – cherish the time you have with your loved ones – near and far – because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
