Issue 16 Episode 16:

Dr. Kassandra BaumeĀ  just got dumped a heavy box load of files on top of her desk, by Nurse Siouxee. “Here are the records you requested” she mimics and repeats to herself as she builds up the courage to read through decades old paperwork. She opens the box and suddenly feels a sinking feeling in her heart. They were just thrown in with no regard. They werenā€™t even stacked neatly. She shakes her head and as she touches the papers, her intuitive and empathetic senses starts to tingle. Looking through them she notices that they’re in terrible condition. Lots of writing was illegible, sometimes faded and even blacked out with permanent marker. Corners were terribly wrinkled and dog eared. Some of the pages were torn and scotch taped back together while others looked to have been stained by coffee or water.Ā  She finds copies of his birth certificate (June 6, 1966), adoption certificate (Aug.16, 1972), and death records of his biological parents (July 28, 1972). She found history of mental illness starting when he was 9 (1975) and drug, alcohol abuse starting at 13 (1979), which led to psychosis and admission to a psychiatric hospital. The trail of paper work ended after that point of his life. Dr. Kassandra Baume finally managed to get to the bottom of the box, and she finds an old Kodak 35mm carrying case with 3 reels inside of it that are labelled “V.L.R. – 1976”.Ā  As she ponders on what the reels could contain, she is suddenly startled by the ring of the office telephone and the ring pulls her out of a ruminating spell. A huge sigh of relief is let out as she sees that it’s her sister calling.

“I need some good news” The voice on the other end says.

Kassandra replies – ” I haven’t gotten too deep but apparently he’s forgotten a lot, and I think on purpose, his childhood was very traumatic, drug and alcohol abuse during early teens led to his adoptive parents admitting him to a ā€œpsychā€ hospital. They were afraid for his life, and ā€¦.. That’s not all! I have some old 35’s that need viewing, tell Khonsu to oil up the projector.”White file folder storage boxes organized on shelves in the background with the symbol (eye in the middle) covering one of the cubby holes. Sitting on a table in front of the shelves is a laptop and in front of that an old metallic grey/silver projector with some 35mm reels resting against it.
