After trying to follow and losing track of Madame Voluspa, Mr Bqi Bqi, Khonsu and Ickabode have arrived at the underground temple. There they find Dr. Kassandra Baume waiting patiently in her vehicle. Mr Bqi Bqi gets out of from the driver’s seat and opens the rear door. Khonsu exits first, and then Ickabode, still all bandaged up, who is also the last to exit. As they walk up to the locked gate door, Dr. Kassandra gets out of her car and meets up with them.
“This gateway has no obvious ways to open it, so, I decided to quit trying and just waited for you guys to show up.” She says. Khonsu then enthusiastically chimes in.
“Let me bring you up to speed, you see, this gate is voice actuated. You gotta sing to it, wait till you guys see this!” He then claps his hands excitedly with anticipation.
Kassandra then surprisingly asks, “What? This gateway is ancient, and it looks to be carved out of one gigantic piece of stone. That vine looking spiral that’s carved out from the centre, and those 2 solid holes that flank it seem to be intricately sculpted. How does it work?
Khonsu then calmly says to her, “Stand back and watch, or should I say, listen and learn. This is ancient technology, electricity is not needed.” He walks up to the centre of the circular gate and stands directly in front of it, mutters something in what sounds to be a mystical foreign language and stretches his arms out wide. He then starts to sing from his throat, at a very particular resonating frequency. As the stone gateway starts to shake and vibrate, he places a hand in each of the holes and gives it the slightest clockwise force to give it a little momentum, and very slowly it starts to spin. As it spins it’s way out of grooves that held it in place, Khonsu motions to Mr Bqi Bqi to assist him in catching the stone gateway once it’s all the way out and ready to drop. They catch and slowly drop it to the ground, then roll it to the side to make their way inside. after they walked through the entrance, Kassandra asks “So, how do you close it now?” To which Khonsu answers, “We grab it by the inside bars, roll it back into place, sing the song backwards and spin it counter clockwise, basically do everything we just did, but in reverse.”
