Episode 2
Antoinnette gently tapped the rim of her wine glass with her fingertips, as she stared off for a moment with her thoughts. Meanwhile, Jasmine was snapping the last lock to her make-up bag preparing to leave. Seconds later Antoinnette returned her focus back to her.
Antoinnette: “Dear. Are you in a hurry to leave?”
Jasmine: “Not at all madame. I have yet to message my ride to tell them I’m finished for the day.”
Antoinnette: “Splendid! Can we speak for a bit? The ceremony is almost an hour away, and I still have my wine to finish.”
Jasmine: “But of course. I have plenty of time.”
Antoinnette: “Très bien. Come, please sit next to me.”
Antoinnette signals the server and points to her glass of wine and then Jasmine. The server returns a nod back. Moments later he returns and hands a glass of wine to Jasmine that she graciously accepts.
Antoinnette: “Relax dear. I have a thought that may be of some interest to you. I am interested in knowing a bit more about you, outside of how talented you are that is. Would it be alright if I asked you a few personal questions? Cheers.”
Jasmine who was caught a bit off guard with this unexpected encounter raised her eyebrows and thought, maybe this lady is a ‘ticket’ to future bookings.
Jasmine: “I’m an open book madame.” Jasmine allows a smile to cross her face and continues, “You can ask me annything.”
Antoinnette: “You don’t do this type of work full-time do you?”
Jasmine: “No, I don’t. I take online courses as well as a night class at the college. The courses occupy much of my time. When I do my aesthetics it does pay well and I’m always busy.”
Antoinnette: “Très bien! Smart and motivated. I saw that in you the moment I saw you. I am fond of you and your personality. What are you doing tomorrow? I would enjoy meeting with you to further our conversation.”
Jasmine: “Uh, wow! Well. I can do lunch. I just need to arrange a ride.”
Antoinnette: “Nonsense dear. I will speak with my brother Nelson and we can scoop you up right at your home. There is much to discuss, but there is wedding to get ready for now. May I please have your phone number?”
Jasmine: “Certainly, here is my card and thank you. I am looking forward to tomorrow.
Antoinnette: “As am I dear. As am I.”
Jasmine sends a message to her ride, informing them that she is ready to be picked up. She concludes the message by intriguingly sharing, “Weird thing happened to me today.”
