Issue 03-12 Episode 08

As the story heads back to current time, Ichabode’s neck gets examined by Doctor Kassandra Baume at the hospital, and after taking an X-ray, they discover a very sophisticated nanochip that was deeply imbedded into his cervical spine. It was like nothing she had ever seen before. It was very advanced.
Kassandra asks Ichabode, “How do you think it got there? As preposterous as this sounds, the only thing I can think of is alien abduction. Could that be a possibility from what you remember?
Ichabode, still looking somewhat confused, replies, “No, nothing ever as strange as that. Wait… There is one memory I have that sticks out which may shed some light. When I was 11 years old, I was transferred to a private school. Ms. Voluspa and the principal finally had enough of my rebellious attitude and convinced my parents that a boarding school would be the best thing for me. Very shortly after I arrived, they conducted tests on myself as well as some of the other classmates that shared the same gifts.”
Kassandra, looking quite puzzled asks, “Ummm gifts? What kinds of gifts?”
Ichabode went on to explain further, “We realized that we could read each other’s minds and move tiny objects by just focusing really hard on them, you know, ESP and telekinesis. They manifested after we were given an inoculation for, what they told us, was meningitis. The shots were administered in the backs of our necks.”
“Well,” exclaims Kassandra, “There you go! I’ve heard of these clandestine research centers before; they were disguised as schools for exceptionally ‘gifted’ students. This means that there are others out there, just like you. I suspect that these chips were used to track you and activate/deactivate your powers and suppress your memories. Do you remember the names of any of your classmates?”
“No, I don’t, it was a long time ago, but I remember getting a yearbook, and they’re all in it! The only catch is, it’s tucked away at my parents’ place, lost amongst a mountain of books in their attic.
With a unanimous decision, reached rather quickly, Kassandra, Akasha, and Ichabode decided to go to his parents’ house and search for the Yearbook.
