With obvious signs that the open water season has come to an end, we shift our focus to the hard water season. With this shift in focus brings a list of things we need to do before we head out. Check all your rod and reels for good function and be sure your line is in good shape. If not, do your maintenance. Organize your tackle and ice fishing accessories you rely on. Make sure you have bells, pliers and an ice scoop. Also, go over your ice auger and make sure blades are sharp and that it is running tip top. Make sure you have your hut and the anchors to go with it. Dig out your favourite ice fishing chair to get comfortable while you wait for the next bite. Another thing to not forget is to get all your winter apparel together. We all have our favourite lineup of layering clothes and suit. So get ready and gear up for another great season of ice fishing.
