Its mid August and the musky bite is starting to heat up. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler. Good news is the water temperature is hovering around the mid to high 70’s and that means speed is king. Whatever style of bait you choose to throw should be fast to trigger a reaction strike and the more erratic the bait the better. Quick start and stops with glide baits, rubber and jerkbaits including dive and rise style baits. 
Never think you are working the bait too fast, when a musky wants it they get it, you couldn’t possibly reel or pull it away fast enough. If you want to put some slime in the boat then speed things up to make it happen. Lets see some fish with teeth boyz and girls. Get the slack out of your line, it’s fishing time.
