Once the laughter within the room ended with Nelson’s hilarious and unexpected lunch suggestion, it was clear he was caught a bit off guard by Dio’s Hispanic heritage. All giggles aside, Nelson wanted to apologize to Dio first for the Tacos at lunch before inquiring about the progress of the salon after the first few weeks.

Nelson: Doing his best to hide a smile, he says, “I do hope you’re not offended by my choice for lunch.”

Dio: “Si señor, no problema. I’m Puerto Rican not Mexican. If you ever go to Puerto Rico I do suggest a few must eats like Viandas, Morcilla, and Lechon Asado. I must also say that I do look forward to working here soon.”

Nelson: “Very glad to have you on board. As you can see we are a ways from opening. We are targeting September 1st.”

Dio: “Excellente! For now I will continue with my current job as a Skip driver. Whenever I have a Taco Bell order, I will think about how welcoming all of you have been. With that in mind I really must be going now, my shift starts very soon.”

Antoinnette: “We will be in touch with you on a regular basis to keep you informed about how well we are progressing.”

Nelson: “While we are on the topic of progression, I would like to find out from everyone what we have accomplished over the past two weeks.”

Antoinnette: “Nelson dear. We are right on track! Painters are here next week and in the week to follow, the new flooring will be installed. We are still waiting for quotes from a few contractors who will be installing the sinks and counter tops.”

Nelson: “Hmm… very good. I didn’t think you would have gotten quite this far. I do admit… I am certainly impressed.”

Jasmine: “Mindy and I have also been keeping ourselves busy.”

Nelson: “Hmmm, ok. I am intrigued… Please proceed.”

Mindy: “I’ve been ordering up products left and right and did a sketch design of the spa layout.”

Jasmine: “I as well have stocked up on the products I need. Mindy and I have collaborated on package ideas to combine the spa with nails and facials.”

Nelson: “I am impressed with how dedicated you are. Very good!”

Jasmine: “Excuse me… I wasn’t done. The Website and FB Page are underway. I’ve updated my own site and page letting my clients know what I am up to. I’ve already started taking bookings right into October. I’ve been in talks with a sign designer for the store front as well and in a few weeks an advertising repA simple picture of a sketch board with different examples of fonts for Purdy Little Snippets and I have a meeting here for an ad in the local paper.”

Nelson: “You have done all that in two weeks? You still have the energy to fulfill your own bookings until we open?”

Jasmine: “I most certainly have. It’s mostly on weekends from here on in. Three weddings, three bridal showers, a couple birthdays and four of five of my regulars still to go before we open.”

Mindy: “Wow… Somebody has unlimited energy.”

Nelson: Well… Not only have my eyebrows raised, but so have my expectations.”

Jasmine: “I strive for excellence and customer satisfaction in every role I undertake.”

Antoinnette: “Nelson dear, I told you this young lady was very good and worth the investment.”

Nelson: “Indeed so. Let’s finish our lunch as we both have meetings with the condo board and the bank this afternoon.”

Antoinnette: “Yes, of course,” she says begrudgingly, “Our monthly condo meetings.”

Dio: “I’m going to see myself out. I will see everyone soon.”

Jasmine: “Oh my gosh!” As she says with a chuckle, “We forgot that you were still here.”
